Philippines: 2005 Southeast Asian Games Overall Champion

The Philippines clinched its championship in the 2005 Southeast Asian Games by bagging 21 gold medals during the event's penultimate day.
With only four events remaining, the Philippines has already been declared the overall champion with a total of 113 gold medals, 77 silver medals, and 85 bronze medals.
Thailand solidified its second place position with a total of 76 gold, 77 silver and 107 bronze medals as of 8 p.m. today.
Vietnam ranks third with 67-62-81 gold-silver-bronze harvest followed by Malaysia (56-47-60).
Indonesia, the overall champions in the 1991 Manila SEA Games, is in fourth place with 48-73-83 record.
Singapore is in fifth place with 40-31-53 medal output followed by Myanmar(16-34-47), Laos (3-4-12), Brunei (0-2-2), Cambodia (0-1-8) and Timor Leste (0-0-3).
The event will end Monday evening. Closing ceremonies will be held at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila and will be attended by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
