The Philipine government intends to open NAIA Terminal 3 as early as possible, according to Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye.
Bunye, who is also the Presidential Spokesman, stressed: "This is a matter of paramount national interest as the terminal is a linchpin of investment confidence and economic takeoff."
Bunye urged all concerned parties to wait for the final decision of the Supreme Court on the matter as the government prepares and conserves the facilities for eventual service and operation.
The Arroyo Government considered the new airport terminal as a key to economic confidence and growth.
The Supreme Court, in a recent decision, ordered the government to pay a consortium led by the Germany's Fraport an amount of P3 billion for the International Airport Terminal 3 in Manila.
With the recent order, observers believed that the High Court gave the government go signal to take over the airport terminal which was expropriated last year.
