App for hikers and backpackers prints custom maps to order
Backpacker magazine and Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) have just released a new app for the iPad that is called Backpacker Map Maker. It is a mapping and trip-planning program that runs on the Apple iPad, and enables backpackers and hikers to find wild places, plot GPS points and plan their next adventure over seamless topo maps — and do this all from the touch-screen of an Apple iPad.
