New Tourism Destination to Rise in Laoag City Ilocos Norte

ILOCOS, PHILIPPINES - Laoag City has been chosen by Venvi Development Corportion as the site of a future luxurious metropolis, which is expected to be a major tourism destination in Ilocos Norte.

The 20-hectare mixed-use development is the first of its kind in the entire Ilocos province.

The Center will feature the architectural blend of the West and the Ilocano culture and art.

It will host a US-franchise 50-room boutique hotel, at least two commercial building, a provincial and city transport terminal, a full service gasoline station, a 20,000 sq. meter strip mall for bars, restaurants, and all-day dining places, as well as a 30,000 sq. meter fully-airconditioned shopping mall.

The shopping mall will enjoy a full complement of state-of-the-art cinemas, department store, boutiques, fast food stores, supermarket and a variety of retail brand stores.

The Center will be within driving distance from the famous Ilocos Norte tourist attractions including the World Heritage Site Paoay Church, the Malacanang of the North, the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Burgos, the windmill farm in Bangui, and the white beaches of Pagudpud.

Ilocos Norte, with its unique arts and sights and exquisite cuisine, has increasingly attracted tourists from all over the world. Its strategic location and proximity to East Asia - particularly Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore - has made it a favorite destination among Chinese tourists.

The Center, which will be the biggest prime development in the northern part of the Philippines, will further strengthen the province's position as an ideal destination for Chinese tourists.
