Businesss Boom in Mandaue City Cebu Philippines
CEBU, PHILIPPINES - A P375 Million Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) will soon rise in Mandaue City. City Mayor Thadeo Ouano sees this as the start of business boom in Mandaue Reclamation Area.
"It is a great honor for Mandaue City to be the home of the soon to rise CICC. I see this emerging landmark as a catalyst for growth, as it brings in more investment and further boosts the economic development of the Province of Cebu, particularly the city of Mandaue," Ouano said in a statement.
"Investors and businessmen both local and foreign are now taking a hard look at Mandaue City," Ouano continued.
At present, Mandaue City is home to over 10,000 enterprises.
"We always want Mandaue to be business friendly, that's why we always work hard to bring down the cost of doing business in the city," he added.
The Cebu International Convention Center will be situated on a 3.8-hectare land in the reclamation area provided by the city government.
Aside from the CICC, there are other structures that are pending construction on the reclamation area, such as the Cebu International Trade and Exhibition Center, which will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency for funding.
The construction of the Cebu Doctors' University (CDU) and the Cebu Boardwalk are also ongoing.
The CDU is designed to accommodate some 8,000 students and staff.
The Cebu Boardwalk on the other hand, is designed to become a mix-use development that will feature a marina.
