Siemens Inc. Launches its First Call Center in the Philippines

Siemens Inc., a German conglomerate, opened its first call center in Metro Manila Philippines. Aimed primarily to serve Siemens' English-speaking customers worldwide, the company invested P250 million in the 450-seat call center, which is expected to employ 700 people by the year's end.
At present, Siemens is already looking at other Philippine locations for future expansion.
Siemens Business Services (SBS) Global, a Siemens Inc. subsidiary,is an internationally leading IT service provider that operates satellite call center offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Canada, Turkey and Singapore.
In the Philippines, SBS will likewise manage the call center business unit to deliver IT helpdesk and customer care services mainly for English-speaking global customers.
Outsourcing is the fastest growing industry in the Philippines, with government officials and industry players forecasting sales to grow fivefold to $12.4 billion by 2010 from $2.5 billion last year.
